In an effort to help employers reach higher workforce vaccination rates, the Employers’ Forum of Indiana now offers a COVID-19 dashboard to track the number of vaccinated and unvaccinated people hospitalized with the virus in Indiana.
The Forum collected publicly available information from Indiana hospital webpages or social media sites and consolidated the information in a 30-page report that will be updated every few weeks.
Gloria Sachdev, president of the Employers’ Forum of Indiana recently spoke to the Indianapolis Star about the project. “You can show state level data or national data, somehow that’s too far away from them, it’s not bringing it close enough to home,” Sachdev said. “It just brings it closer to home.”
Not all hospitals make the data publicly available, but the hospital data contained in the current dashboard shows the majority of people hospitalized for COVID-19 have not been vaccinated and the vast majority of those who wind up in the intensive care unit and on a ventilator are unvaccinated.
